Nowadays people know the price of everything but the value of nothing and today I am here to enlighten you to value moral education. You all must have heard the term Moral Education, but what exactly is it? Moral education is a term used to describe the teaching of children in a manner that will help them develop variously as moral, good, mannered, behaved, non-bullying, healthy, successful, traditional, socially acceptable beings.
However, why should we have moral values in our life? Moral education is one of the most important things based on which a person is judged. Moral values are the principles that guide us throughout our lives. From childhood to adulthood, we keep on learning and transforming ourselves and so do our morals. Moral values are important in life because Moral values reflect an individual's character and spirituality.
Martin Luther King once quoted Education without morals is like a ship without a compass, merely wandering nowhere. Education is not only aimed at obtaining any degree and be simply literate rather it’s a character building process that helps student abide values in their life which would later serve in their success. The foundation to a good character or moral intelligence consists of seven core virtues empathy, conscience, fairness, respect, tolerance, kindness, self-control. If a person possesses this good character, nobody could stop him/her to succeed. Intelligence will not always serve you if you are not morally educated. A morally educated person always respect people in his/her surrounding rather it be a house cleaner, a carpenter, garbage collector etc. All the educated people always live in a high fi manner and never ready to talk to the down class whereas morally educated people live down to the earth following customs and never boast around. Future of the country is in the hand of teenagers and our future could only be bright if we help our juniors and talk to them in a polite manner as students learn from their elders and are good observers.
Of the various basic moral values, truth is the first and the foremost value without which other values cannot exist. A truthful person is regarded all over the globe. Man is a “Social Animal” who needs the help of the people and we should always be the helping hand towards each other. We should always help the old age people, as at that age they need the utmost care. We should be honest about the work assigned to us and always have patience. For example sometimes in school, teachers and at home parents scold us for a cause and we usually get irritated and shout or yell in the manner we should not and after a passage of time, we realize that we did something wrong. Why don’t we think of what we are doing and then act with patience always have peace around you and follow moral values to become a successful person and lead a healthy life?
I will end up with a saying by Malala Yousafzai “I truly believe in the only way we can create global peace is through not only educating our mind, but our hearts and our souls.
