According to estimates, 18 million children in India work instead of going to school. Taking ideas from the visual and the hints, together with your own ideas, write a letter in about 120 words to the editor of an english newspaper expressing your concern over the problem of child labourers and the lack of education opportunities for them. Suggest how this problem can be solved.

Subject - Child labour in India.

Respected Sir/ Mam,
I am the owner of a public interest business venture, here in (place). I want to draw your attention to this situation of immediate recognition. Poverty has climbed another stair towards devastation. Employing children for labouring is the only option left with the poor parents to survive in the world of great riches. Children work in tough conditions with the bright sun over their head and burning sand below their feet. This position of theirs leads to consequences like illiteracy, poor health, imbalanced growth, poverty, naming a few.

To avoid such outrageous results, governing should step up with ideas like compulsory and free education up to 10th standard for all. Midday meals should be the highest for all. A child labour project should be initiated which should mark the beginning of special schools for workers and labourers children. Vocational training should become a compulsion, all over the peninsular country. I would end with a hope and desire to see India poverty-free, and a new generation with homework as their workload.

Yours faithfully,
XYZ
